Indigenous Peoples Day 2017


Throughout most of the United States, October 9, 2017 is celebrated Columbus Day. In a growing number of cities and states, though, Columbus Day is being replaced with Indigenous Peoples Day. Berkeley, California was the first city to make the switch back in 1992, while most of the 56 municipalities and 4 states which now celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day voted to replace the holiday only within the past few years.
