Without Roe V Wade, abortion would be made even more prohibitively difficult in 22 states. 41% would see the nearest abortion clinic close, and the average distance they would have to travel to reach one would be 280 miles, up from 36 miles now. People who can’t afford to travel to a legal clinic or arrange child care or leave from work for the trip are most affected. Abortion won’t be illegal, just made even more prohibitively difficult to access except for the rich and privileged.
For those without legal US status, traveling also entails the risk of getting stopped at a checkpoint within Border Patrol’s 100-mile border zone. BP may board buses and trains to question individuals about their citizenship. BP cannot pull anyone over without “reasonable suspicion” of an immigration violation or crime. You have the right to remain silent and do not have to provide information about where you were born, how you entered the US or how long you have been here.
does this need 2 be updated for this year ?
